George W. Bush Presidential Center
Exhibits & Events
Through our three Impact Centers -- Domestic Excellence, Global Leadership, and our Engagement Agenda -- we focus on developing leaders, advancing policy, and taking action to solve today’s most pressing challenges.
Providing new insight into the election of William McKinley in 1896, Karl Rove’s The Triumph of William McKinley: Why the Election of 1896 Still Matters draws parallels between Washington’s political climate then and today. McKinley overcame similar challenges facing the leaders of our nation today: a shifting economy driven by new technologies, a growing immigrant population and other divisive issues causing gridlock and frustration in Washington. As President, McKinley was able to overcome these challenges and set a precedent for action in his party for years to come.
